Its elongated, spear-shaped leaves offer versatility, ideal for light cooking, salad enhancements, soups, and stir-fries. Cultivating Mibuna proves effortless, with plants displaying resilience to summer warmth, yet showing a preference for cooler conditions. Once established, Mibuna greens exhibit robust growth, even when subjected to minimal care.

Mibuna Chinese Cabbage Seeds grow to approximately 30 centimeters in height, yielding clusters of slender white stalks adorned with delicate, pencil-thin leaves. This Japanese green, akin to Mizuna, boasts a subtly sharp, mustard-like taste, perfect for enhancing mixed salads, cooked greens, and pickling recipes. How To Grow

Sowing: Prepare the soil with compost or organic matter, ensuring a loose and well-draining environment. Optimal sowing conditions for Mibuna Chinese cabbage seeds involve temperatures ranging from 7 to 24 degrees Celsius (45-75°F) in full sun or partial shade. Directly sow the seeds about 1.3 centimeters deep and space them 30.5 centimeters apart in rows with the same spacing. Expect germination within approximately 10 days. For a fall harvest, sow the seeds directly in July.

Growing: Maintain consistent soil moisture to promote healthy growth throughout the growing season. Chinese cabbage is prone to bolting, especially in excessively hot conditions, so providing some form of shade during peak sunlight hours can prevent premature flowering.

Harvesting

Harvesting can begin as early as 21 days when the leaves reach the tender baby leaf stage. Alternatively, wait until the plant forms a fully mature loose head, which typically occurs around 40 days after sowing. Leaves can be harvested individually or the entire plant can be harvested.

Seed Saving

In regions where the ground freezes during winter, uproot the plant before the first heavy frost, leaving about 8 centimeters of the stem intact. Store the roots in sand or sawdust over winter and replant them in the spring. In warmer climates, protect the plant by covering it thickly with mulch during winter. Allow the plant to flower and go to seed in the spring. Once the long green pods turn brown, harvest them individually. To eliminate any bacteria, pour boiling water over the seeds and let them dry completely. Remove the pods and store the Mibuna Chinese cabbage seeds in a cool, dry place for future use
